We were given a question; can we create an effective and cheap water filtration device that can be used in times of crisis? We were asked to choose an area that was suffering from a natural disaster that affected their source of water. We chose Tōhoku, Japan which was partly destroyed by the tsunami that hit them in 2011. We must create a device that will turn any water into safe, drinking water. The filtration device must meet all the qualifications listed below. |
Easily-AccessibleMaterials for the filtration device must be available in a crisis situation so that consumers don't struggle to replace the materials inside our device.

EfficientDevice must filter water in as little time as possible, but water must come out ready to drink.
